The bustling Central Market area, one of the busiest commercial hubs in the city, is increasingly turning into a traffic nightmare for commuters and shoppers. Despite the road being wide enough to handle the rush, poor traffic regulation, street vendors, and haphazard parking have brought the area to a standstill during peak hours. The effect is also felt on the adjacent Maidan Road, which is one of the major thoroughfares in the Central Business District (CBD) area.

Commuters complain that with insufficient traffic police deployed in the stretch, vehicles pile up on both sides of the road. The situation worsens as customers and traders park their vehicles along the roadside due to a lack of designated parking facilities, adding to the already crowded market lanes.
