Provide facilities to labourers working under scorching sun

LABOUR department has asked employers to provide necessary facilities to labourers to help them beat the heat in view of harsh temperature.

In a statement, the department officials said as the temperature is increasing everyday this summer, there is a possibility of heat stroke adversely affecting the health of workers. As a precautionary measure, it is the primary duty of all employers, contractors and recruiters to provide safety, health and other necessary facilities at the workplace to workers of all categories, including building and other construction workers, porters, daily wage workers, street vendors and others.
