AMID the controversy over Marathi versus Hindi, Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde on Friday kicked up another row by ending his speech with 'Jai Gujarat' in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Pune.
Speaking at the inauguration of a sports and convention centre, Shinde thanked Shah and ended his speech by saying, "Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra, Jai Gujarat." The remarks prompted the Opposition to accuse Shinde of surrendering Marathi and Maharashtra pride before Gujarati BJP leaders.
