UDUPI-Chikkamagalur MP Kota Shrinivas Poojary instructed NHAI engineers to ensure systematic development and maintenance of National Highway (NH) roads in the district to facilitate smooth and safe transportation for the public.

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE @Udupi

He said this while chairing a meeting held at the Dr V S Acharya Hall in Rajathadri, Manipal on Tuesday. The MP discussed the proposed construction of a flyover or underpass on NH-66, from Akashavani Junction to Mahesh Hospital Junction in Brahmavar, and addressed various grievances related to national highways.

He said that NH-66 runs for over 100 km through the district, but noted the lack of proper service roads, drainage systems, street lighting, and other infrastructure is causing inconvenience and increasing the risk of accidents.

He urged the National Highways Authority to take up all necessary development works to address these issues.
