Communicate with people in local language, ZP CEO tells bankers

UDUPI Zilla Panchayat (ZP) CEO Prateek Bayal directed bank officials and staff to communicate in the local language with the general public when they come in for daily transactions.
He said that creating a supportive environment without any confusion will contribute to the overall development of banking transactions. Presiding over the District Lead Bank Progress Review Meeting held at the Dr. V S Acharya Auditorium Rajathadri recently, he said that bank officials should work towards increasing the Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio by ensuring that 60% of the total deposits are distributed as loans, as per the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India. "Some banks have a low CD ratio, and that needs to be improved in the coming days," he said.
