A DEDICATED bicycle track project between Padubidri and Kaup has been sanctioned under the Swadesh Darshan scheme of the Union Government.

- PRAKASH SAMAGA @ Udupi

The aim is to promote eco-friendly tourism along the scenic coastal stretch in the southern part of Udupi district.

The initiative is expected to boost local tourism, encourage sustainable travel, and offer cyclists a safe and picturesque route through the region's most attractive landscapes.

This project is expected to boost shoreline tourism in the district.

The 10 km long cycle track will be readied from Blue Flag Beach in Padubidri to Light House in Kaup.

Later, the plan is such that it will be extended up to Padukere near Malpe.
