State Sets Up Cashew Board to Boost Cultivation, Export

In a bid to expand cashew cultivation, raise production and protect the welfare of farmers and workers engaged in the cashew industry, the state government has formally constituted the Tamil Nadu Cashew Board with Cuddalore as its headquarters.
The announcement follows Chief Minister MK Stalin's assurance in the 2025-26 Agriculture Budget, which allocated ₹10 crore for the initiative. Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister MRK Panneerselvam will serve as the chairperson of the board, which will have 12 members, including representatives from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Tamil Nadu Food Processing and Agri Export Promotion Corporation (TNAPEx), horticulture officials, and two farmers from major cashew-growing districts.
