Downpour on the cards in isolated places
Unseasonal thunderstorms and fierce winds swept through Gujarat, leaving at least 14 people dead and 16 others injured in the past 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday.
The highest number of deaths has been reported in Kheda district. Additionally, there were 3 deaths in Vadodara city, 2 each in Aravalli and Dahod, 1 each in Viramgam and Daskroi (both in Ahmedabad), and 1 death in Anand.
The fatalities were concentrated in Kheda, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Dahod, Aravalli, and Anand districts, with Kheda alone reporting four deaths. Additionally, 26 animals also lost their lives in the incidents, and seven houses were destroyed, they added.
