Two-day Avocado Fest '25 seeks to sow Ambalavayal growers' dreams

AFTER the success of GI-tagged Wayanad robusta coffee, and the special mention it received in the Centre's One District One Product (ODOP) programme, farmers in the district are now into promoting avocado cultivation.
The collective of different farmers' organisations is conducting special fairs and increasing the exports with the support of agriculture department with an aim to ensure a national and international market for Wayanad avocado.
In connection with the celebration of World Avocado Day which falls on July 31, a two-day Avocado Fest 2025, jointly organised by Regional Agricultural Research Station, (RARS) Ambalavayal, Wayanad Hill Farmer Producer Company (WHFPC) and Kisan Service Society, has begun in Ambalavayal on Wednesday.
