SUNNI organisations have pooh-poohed the Jama'at-e-Islami's claim that it has moved forward from its founder Syed Abul Ala Maududi. In an article in Suprabhatham daily, leader of EK faction of Sunni, Mustafa Mundupara, said that the current controversies stem from Jama'at's frustrated attempt to whitewash the organisation.

“Though the Muslim community has realised the real colour of the organisations, Jama'at is trying to present a good image in the general public,” Mundupara, who is the secretary of the EK faction of Sunni Yuvajana Sangam (SYS) said.
