Samastha rift resolution meet fails

|December 10, 2024
A MEETING convened jointly by the leadership of the Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama (Samastha) and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) in Malappuram on Monday to address the differences between the pro-IUML group and the official group in Samastha failed to achieve its intended outcome.
While the pro-IUML group members, including Abdussamad Pookkottur and Nasar Faizy Koodathai, participated in the meeting, the official group opposing the pro-IUML faction stayed away. The official group informed the Samastha leadership that they were prepared to accept any decision taken by the leadership.
The meeting was convened urgently after the pro-IUML members were excluded from certain ongoing campaigns of the Samastha Kerala Sunni Students Federation (SKSSF), the student wing of Samastha. The official group excluded the pro-IUML members as the pro-IUML faction established a parallel structure under the banner of the 'Samastha Adarsha Samrakshana Samithi'.
The official group also expressed concerns that the meeting was organised to protect the pro-IUML leaders from potential disciplinary actions that might be decided during the Samastha Mushawara meeting scheduled for Wednesday in Kozhikode.
