Rape-murder victim's parents still await justice

ASSERTING that there's more to the story than what is being understood, the parents of the trainee doctor of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital—who was found raped and murdered inside the hospital—have called for a march to Nabanna, the state administrative headquarters, on Saturday, marking the first anniversary of the horrific incident.
Sanjoy Roy, a Kolkata Police civic volunteer, was found guilty of the crime by the Sealdah court in Kolkata in January 2025, and sentenced to life imprisonment.
