Rain acts as dampener after PBKS' dazzling opening show
The New Indian Express Kozhikode
|April 27, 2025
IT was raining fours and sixes at the Eden Gardens on Saturday. Punjab Kings openers Priyansh Arya (69) and Prabhsimran Singh (83) were the forces behind that as the duo smashed the Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers all over the park in the Indian Premier League.
The duo put on an opening-wicket stand of 120 runs, helping Punjab finish with a competitive score of 201/4 in the process.
The intent was clear from ball one of the contest after Punjab skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first. Vaibhav Arora was at the receiving end as Arya hit a cover drive to find the boundary ropes to kick off Punjab's innings.
