Periya murder: HC suspends sentence of ex-MLA, 3 others

THE KERALA High Court has suspended the sentence passed by the CBI special court against former MLA K V Kunhiraman and three local CPM leaders — Manikandan, Raghavan Velutholi, and K V Bhaskaran — in the Periya twin murder case.
Convicting them under section 225 (resistance or obstruction to lawful apprehension of another person) of the IPC, the court had last week sentenced them to undergo simple imprisonment for five years and each pay ₹10,000 as fine.
