Officials are intensifying efforts to regulate ops of autorickshaws, settle complaints swiftly
KOZHIKODE, known for its honest autorickshaw drivers, has been receiving complaints that autorickshaw drivers are charging unfair prices for night trips and even for trips within the city at daytime too. Film director Kunjila Mascillamani recently shared her unfortunate experience with an autorickshaw driver while traveling in the city at night.
The demand for a 24-hour helpline for the MVD to immediately report unfair fares, and a system where a squad can arrive within minutes and take action, is growing. The Motor Vehicles Department officials in Kozhikode are intensifying efforts to regulate the operation of autorickshaws and settle the complaints swiftly on the spot.
