Urges continuing efforts by LSGs in three focus areas of state govt
CHIEF Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has urged local self governments (LSGs) to focus on the timely implementation of the programmes aimed at eradication of extreme poverty, palliative care and waste management.
He was addressing a special meeting of the governing committees of all local-self governments on Monday.
Noting that the LSGs had made good progress in the three focus areas of the government, the CM said there should be continuing efforts.
The extreme poverty eradication programme was started in 2021 and aims to declare Kerala as an extreme poverty-free state by November 1, 2025.
As many as 1,03,099 persons of 64,006 families were found to be living in extreme poverty.
The first phase saw the uplifting of 47.89% of the identified persons.
Chief Minister asked LSGs to ensure food supply to all the identified families.
