Distributors halt supply of medicines to Koz MCH

PHARMACEUTICAL distributors have ceased supplying essential medicines and surgical devices to the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital (MCH) due to a prolonged delay in settling outstanding bills amounting to Rs 90 crore.
The action, effective from Friday, follows repeated warnings to the hospital authorities and the state government about pending dues.
The All Kerala Chemists and Druggists Association (AKCDA) Kozhikode district unit, along with surgical device distributors, highlighted the financial strain caused by the delays.
"Our members have been cooperating despite the financial hardships, but the situation has become unsustainable," said AKCDA district secretary C Sivaraman.
