AG to Speed Up Legal Steps for Solving Labour Issues at Elstone Estate

THE ADVOCATE General has been directed to expedite the legal proceedings to provide severance pay to workers in connection with the acquisition of Elstone Estate as part of the rehabilitation related to the Chooralmala-Mundakkai disaster.

The decision was taken at a meeting attended by Revenue Minister K Rajan, Minister for General Education and Labour V Sivankutty, and Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes O R Kelu. Additional Labour Commissioner (IR), Sunil K M, was also present at the meeting, while Wayanad collector D R Meghasree attended the meeting online.
