Thiruvabharanam procession from Pandalam on Jan 12

THE three-day procession carrying the 'Thiruvabharanam', the golden attire to be adorned on the idol of the lord during Makaravilakku ceremony on January 14, will be taken out from Pandalam Valiyakoickal Sree Dharma Sastha temple on January 12.

The 'Thiruvabharanam', kept in three boxes, will be carried on head by a 30-member team belonging to three families traditionally assigned for the purpose.

The procession will leave after spotting 'Krishnaparunthu' hovering around the sky above the temple at 12.30pm. A 35-member devaswom team, headed by Vinodkumar, administrative officer of Pandalam devaswom, will oversee the affairs of the procession, a devaswom source said.

After leaving Pandalam, the procession will be given receptions at Kaipuzha Sree Krishna Temple before the halt at Kulanada Devi Temple at 1pm. The procession will leave Kulanada after providing the facility for darshan for hundreds of devotees.
