Spot booking allowed only at Nilakkal for Makaravilakku

AUTHORITIES have permitted the Sabarimala devotees who have already booked virtual queue slots to undertake the pilgrimage through the traditional forest route to the hill shrine.

On the most important days-Jan 11 to 14- of the Makaravilakku festival season, only the pilgrims who have booked online will be permitted to enter the forest path via Karimala.

Those already booked to travel through another route, the Erumeli-Mukkuzhi forest path, will also be allowed to complete their journey.

However, those devotees who are not booked through Virtual Queue won't be permitted, officials said.

Notably, spot booking will be available only from Nilakkal, the base camp of Sabarimala, they said.
