Authorities yet to demolish dam built by private parties atop the hills near residential areas
WITH monsoon around the corner and heavy rain already lashing isolated regions of the Idukki district, concern is mounting among residents of Chokramudi as authorities are yet to demolish an illegally constructed check dam built by private parties atop the hills near the residential areas.
Last month, Idukki district collector V Vigneswari had formed a team to visit the spot and submit a report on how to safely demolish the dam and restore the natural flow of a stream originating from the hills.
