CMD asserts welfare of employees, revises shift schedules for staff

As protests escalate against the implementation of a shift work system for employees at the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (Bevco), the management has come out with clarification that the new system is designed to alleviate the workload for employees and that the government does not seek to achieve any financial savings through the initiative.
In a message shared on the WhatsApp group for Bevco employees, Harshita Attalluri, chairman and managing director of the corporation, has reassured staff that the participation in the shift system is voluntary. "Only one shop will be designated per warehouse, and only those employees who are willing to participate in the shift system will be assigned to work there. Employees who choose not to participate will not be included in the shift system and will be accommodated in nearby shops," she said.
