Suspension bridge remains in state of neglect 15 yrs after construction

Bridge was never inaugurated as it failed to get a fitness certificate from dist administration
FIFTEEN years after its construction, the iron suspension bridge over the Ithikkara river — built to connect Velinalloor in Kollam and Pakalkuri in Thiruvananthapuram — is yet to be inaugurated and remains in a state of neglect. The bridge has not been maintained since its construction.
The paint applied 15 years ago has faded, and the iron sheets have corroded due to continuous exposure to sunlight and rain. All joints have deteriorated, causing the bridge to creak unusually while people are using it. The structure is unstable, and several iron sheets laid across the bridge have become wobbly and unsafe.
