SC Stays Lokpal Fiat on Right to Probe HC Judges

THE Supreme Court on Thursday put on hold the Lokpal's order on January 27, which held that the anti-corruption ombudsman could investigate complaints against high court judges, terming the interpretation "very disturbing".
A special bench comprising justices B R Gavai, Surya Kant, and Abhay S Oka, expressed a preliminary view that high court judges are not covered under the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013, since their appointment does not fall under the "public servant" category.
