₹28 cr sanctioned for monthly pension up to ₹10K for MISA detainees
The BJP-led Maharashtra government on Friday sanctioned ₹28 crore for payment of monthly pension between ₹5,000 and ₹10,000 to those who were jailed during the Emergency.
The order stated that a person imprisoned for under a month would receive a pension of ₹5,000 per month. Those in jail for more than a month would receive ₹10,000.
In the event of the death of a beneficiary who spent time in jail, their kin will receive half of the eligible amount.
