The courier service, launched in Kollam 2 years ago, generates around ₹9 lakh a month
KSRTC's courier service, which has emerged as a major non-ticket revenue stream, is witnessing steady growth in the district. The corporation has also boosted income through shop leases at bus stations, new ventures such as driving schools, and by allowing private companies to take up depot development in return for branding opportunities.
The courier service, launched in the district two years ago, now generates around ₹9 lakh a month. It currently operates from the Kollam, Kottarakkara, Punalur, and Karunagappally depots. While the Kollam depot earns up to ₹15,000 a day, the others record around ₹5,000.
