I carry not just his name, but also his legacy

S I stepped into the charming home of the late veteran actor Innocent, a hand waved at me from the veranda. For a fleeting moment, it felt as though the beloved actor himself was there, greeting me with his familiar warmth and smile. The resemblance was uncanny—the voice, the gestures, even the joyful spark in the eyes. But no, it wasn't Innocent.

It was his grandson, Innocent S, named after his legendary grandfather. A final-year English literature student at Christ College, Irinjalakuda, Innocent now stands at the cusp of his own cinematic journey, all set to debut in Mollywood.

Excerpts from a chat:

How did your grandfather inspire you?

He has always been a huge inspiration. One has much to learn from his discipline, work ethic, and resilience. The effort behind his success is visible in every film he did.

Even during his cancer treatment and chemotherapy, he'd still make sure to bring us our favourite foods. I used to wonder how he stayed so strong.

That strength has always stayed with me, and motivates me to give my best in everything I do. Especially now, as I prepare for my first film.
