The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged mass burial case in Dharmasthala village is considering taking up an expert survey with ground-penetrating radar (GPR) or other technology, apart from manual digging, to search for any possible human remains at site number 13, the final burial site identified by the witness-complainant.

Sources in the SIT said expert opinion is being sought before going ahead with the exhumation process due to the presence of electricity lines and proximity of the spot to the main road. "We are focusing on spot 13 only now," an officer associated with SIT told TNIE.

The SIT team, headed by DGP Pronab Mohanty, DIG M N Anucheth and SP Jitendra Kumar Dayama who is also the investigating officer (IO), are expected to visit the spot first for the expert survey.
