'Vayana Velicham': 4,988 children read 31,366 books

"VAYANA VELICHAM", an initiative launched at Hosdurg taluk of Kasaragod district, saw as many as 4,988 children from the taluk reading a total of 31,366 books within two months during summer vacation.
The project was launched with the intention of engaging children into reading books instead of spending their time on gadgets like mobiles during the summer months of April and May.
The Hosdurg Taluk Library Council roped in 230 libraries in the taluk and formed 1,612 reading groups for the initiative.
