Traffic woes mount as theft leaves Chokli-Peringadi signal inoperative

HUNDREDS of commuters have been facing mounting difficulties on a daily basis after the Chokli-Peringadi road was closed due to the theft of batteries from the bypass signal, rendering it inoperative.
Two weeks after the incident, no action has been taken to apprehend the culprits or replace the stolen batteries.
The malfunctioning signal has also disrupted traffic flow on Spinning Mill and Peringadi roads.
Police have attempted to manage the situation by setting up barricades, forcing vehicles to use the service road for two-way traffic. This workaround has led to further confusion, with vehicles frequently travelling in a single direction on the service road.
