A sudden and baffling health scare rocked the J M Desai Vidhyamandir School in Jhank village in Gujarat's Gandhinagar district where over 120 students have been struck by a mysterious eye condition, triggering a state-level medical response.

What began on June 30 with few isolated complaints of redness of the eyes, burning, irritation, and double-vision, quickly escalated, affecting 122 students out of the total 225 residing in the hostel.
