Dispute began on Thursday when authorities attempted to install a board at Caltex auto stand; auto drivers resisted the move, leading to a clash with the police
A PROTEST led by the Auto Workers' United Trade Union was held at the corporation office on Friday over newly imposed restrictions on auto parking at the Caltex auto stand, Kannur.
The corporation had enforced the limit on parking spaces following a court ruling, sparking outrage among auto drivers.
Tensions escalated when demonstrators blocked the official vehicle of Kannur Mayor Muslih Madathil which passed by during the presidential speech. The incident led to a confrontation between the protesters and the police.
