Kodi Suni booked for drinking in public while in custody

THALASSERY police have booked Kodi Suni aka Sunil Kumar, a convict in the TP Chandrasekharan murder case, along with Muhammad Shafi and Shinoj, for consuming alcohol in public while in police custody.
The trio has been charged under the Abkari Act.
The incident occurred in June last year when the accused were brought to the Thalassery court in connection with the Mahe double murder case. CCTV footage shows them drinking in the parking lot of a hotel directly opposite the court in full view of police officers assigned to escort them.
