The police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the murder of 59-year-old auto-rickshaw driver and Mangaluru native Mohammed Sharif, whose body was found at Kunjathur, in the Manjeswar region on April 10. The accused, identified as Mangaluru resident Abhishek Shetty, is a former school bus driver.
Following the incident, the Manjeshwar police launched an investigation, and the postmortem report confirmed that the cause of death was homicide. A special investigative team—constituted by the Kasaragod police division—apprehended the accused from Mangaluru.
