Religious leaders, politicians seek withdrawal of Waqf Act

THOUSANDS of people, including religious leaders of Muslim community, leaders of different political parties who gathered in a rally organised on Sunday evening at Kalaburagi have strongly demanded the Union government to withdraw Waqf Act-2025.
Medical Education Minister Dr. Sharanaprakash Patil who addressed the gathering said that Waqf Act-2025 has been brought by the Centre to create rift between Hindus and Muslims. He said that AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders of the party have strongly condemned the Act and said that the Congress Party will revoke the Waqf Act-2025 after it comes to power in the Centre. Minister Rahim Khan said that the Waqf Act-2025 has been brought as people started realising the failure of the union government in last 12 years of its rule.
