STEPPING up his attack on the Modi government on why External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar allegedly informed Pakistan about India targeting its terror infrastructure, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Monday again questioned the minister's silence, saying it was not a "lapse" but a "crime".

- PREETHA NAIR/RAJESH KUMAR THAKUR @ New Delhi

In a post on X, Gandhi raised the question: "EAM Jaishankar's silence isn't just telling, it's damning. So I'll ask again: How many Indian aircraft did we lose because Pakistan knew?" He said, "This wasn't a lapse. It was a crime. And the nation deserves the truth."

The BJP's IT cell chief, Amit Malviya, condemned Gandhi's comments, accusing him of being a "modern-age Mir Jafar". He wrote, "Shame on you, Rahul Gandhi. Once again, Pakistani media is weaponising his social media posts to push a false narrative—this time, portraying a battle in which India clearly dominated the escalation matrix as something in their favour."
