Minister Patil Visits Construction Site of Vitthal Rao Cancer Centre

Minister for Medical Education Dr Sharanaprakash Patil visited the site meant for the construction of the extended building of the current Vitthal Rao Tukaram Sutrave Memorial Peripheral Cancer Centre, which is the branch of Kidwai Cancer Hospital in Kalaburagi on Saturday.
Speaking with press persons after visiting the proposed site, Dr Patil said that the government has already accorded sanction for the construction of 150-bed Kidwai Cancer Hospital attached to the present Vitthal Rao Tukaram Sutrave Memorial Peripheral Cancer Centre and it is an extended portion of the present hospital.
The extended hospital would be built in 1.5 acres of land with an estimated cost of Rs 76 crore. The Karnataka Examination Authority and Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) will provide Rs 25 crore each, Kidwai Hospital will provide Rs 16 crore and the government will provide remaining Rs 10 crore. The construction of the building will be completed within two years, he said.
