Lord Curzon’s 123-year-old gift to Golden Temple starts ticking again

TWO years on, a 123-year-old manual clock gifted to the Golden Temple by Lord Curzon— the Viceroy of India from 1899 to 1905—has been restored.
It will be placed back in the sacred sanctorum next month.It was in 2023 that the Birmingham-based Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha (GNNSJ) took out this brass-made one-foot-wide and one-and-a-half-foot-tall manual clock weighing 10 kilograms from the Golden Temple to Birmingham in the United Kingdom. The SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) had handed the restoration and conservation of frescos, wall paintings and golden plates of the shrine to the GNNSJ, led by Bhai Mohinder Singh.
