Farmers Move HC Against Brindavan Garden Makeover

FARMERS of the Mandya district moved the Karnataka High Court against the decision of the state government to transform Brindavan Garden at Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) Reservoir like Disneyland, by filing a public interest litigation alleging that this project is detrimental to the agrarian community.
A vacation division bench of Justice B M Shyam Prasad and Justice K V Aravind issued notice to the various authorities of the state and central governments including the Ministry of Jal Shakthi, National Dam Authority, Chief Secretary of the State Government, Water Resources, Agriculture, Forest and Ecology Departments, Kaveri Neeravari Nigam Limited and other authorities of the Mandya district.
