DC gives roadmap to tackle water crisis

WITH rising summer temperatures in the district, the District Administration (DA) has directed officials to ensure adequate drinking water supply through tankers at the required places during the summer months.

He also instructed that town panchayats in each taluk should identify and designate suitable sites for solid waste disposal.

Chairing a progress review meeting with Revenue Department officials at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohmmad Roshan emphasised that funds available with town panchayats should be utilised to provide drinking water in villages and urban areas facing water shortages via private borewells or tankers. He noted that water scarcity is already emerging in Uttara Kannada district, and proactive measures must be taken to prevent similar issues in Belagavi.
