The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) at Kadaganchi village on the outskirts of Kalaburagi has proposed to establish a Centre of Excellence in High-Frequency Electronics on the campus, university Vice-chancellor Battu Satyanarayana said here on Thursday.

Speaking at a press conference here, Satyanarayan said that the purpose of establishing the Centre of Excellence in High-Frequency Electronics is to train manpower in high-frequency electronics, an area of strategic importance for the country.

"The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) have expressed their support for CUK's activities under this centre from its conception. This centre is established in partnership with Keysight Technologies, the industrial counterpart. It is also coming with an investment of more than Rs 2 crore and with a 50% partnership from Keysight Technologies, the industrial arm of the centre," he elaborated.
