After Madras HC's order, ADGP held for aiding abduction of 16-year-old boy

TAMIL Nadu additional director general of police HM Jayaram, presently serving as ADG Armed Police in Chennai, was taken into custody on Monday, on the direction of the Madras High Court in the case of abduction of a 16-year-old boy in Tiruvallur district.
The senior officer's name was included in the FIR after investigations showed that his official car was allegedly used by the accused for the crime. While issuing the directions in open court, Justice P Velmurugan said that Jayaram was a public servant and should understand the consequences of aiding a crime.
