After brawl, Maha curbs in Assembly; ethics panel set up

MAHARASHTRA CM Devendra Fadnavis on Friday expressed regret regarding a brawl that occurred between BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar and NCP SP MLA Jitendra Awhad workers at the Vidhan Bhawan premises.
Terming the incident "unfortunate", the CM said that measures would be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. "This incident has tarnished the image of lawmakers. We will ensure that no such incidents take place again," he added. Meanwhile, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar said that an ethical and disciplinary committee will be set up to take action against the lawmakers if they violate the prescribed norms and misbehave.
