UNION Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday said in the Rajya Sabha that draft UGC regulations 2025 aim to create a more inclusive and multidisciplinary higher education ecosystem in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

- KAVITA BAJELI-DATT @ New Delhi

He said the regulations are designed to ensure academic excellence while respecting diverse educational frameworks of different states. The minister said the regulations have set either National Eligibility Test (NET)/State Eligibility Test (SET) or PhD as the minimum qualification for the post of assistant professor to balance national standards and state autonomy in higher education.
