FORESTERS in Gadag have come up with a new afforestation idea at Kappatagudda named 'Vriksha Bandhan'.

- RAGHOTTAM KOPPAR @Gadag

Under this drive, visitors to the hillock tie rakhis to trees. Tourists are given eco-friendly rakhis which contain nine different seeds of native plants. After 7 to 10 days, the rakhis fall down and the seeds start growing as plants. The nursery staff in Kappatagudda have been making these rakhis.

Kappatagudda, which has turned lush green following bountiful rainfall, is now attracting many visitors. Every weekend, thousands of visitors from Gadag and neighbouring districts visit the place.
