To reduce the non-academic workload and stress faced by teachers, the Dharwad district administration has directed the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) currently engaged in supplying midday meals in the district to ensure the distribution of eggs and bananas among students.

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE @ Hubballi

If that is not possible, the administration has thought of making alternate arrangements.

Since eggs and bananas are supplementary nutritious food items, the government has mandated their distribution along with the midday meal. This scheme is crucial for the health and overall development of children. Currently, teachers themselves are procuring eggs and bananas from the market and distributing them among students. This is resulting in time constraints and added pressure, affecting the quality of teaching.

As the administration is working on resolving the teachers' difficulties by making necessary changes, it has informed the NGOs to promptly inform the authorities about their consent or views regarding the distribution of eggs and bananas. If they are unwilling, the government will arrange for alternatives.
