DIMHANS set to have 100-bed facility soon

New neurosurgery & neurology unit, being built at a cost of Rs 33 crore, to benefit patients in North Karnataka
DHARWAD Institute of Mental and Neurosciences (DIMHANS) is all set to get a 100-bed neurosurgery and neurology hospital soon. An announcement in this regard was made recently after the cabinet meeting held in Bengaluru. With this facility, DIMHANS will be able to cater to a large number of patients in North Karnataka.
Every month, around 1,200 outpatients receive treatment at the hospital and about 375 patients avail the inpatient facilities.
The demand for upgrading the hospital was long pending. Speaking to TNIE, DIMHANS director Arun C said that patients from different parts of the state visit the hospital to receive treatment. It is the second busiest hospital in the state with regard to mental health issues and neurology. From the last few years, the hospital has transformed into a hope for patients from across the region.
