Security for the Amarnath Yatra has been stepped up after intelligence agencies issued an alert cautioning against a possible terror attack during the pilgrimage, sources said.

- Mukesh Ranjan @ New Delhi

Intelligence agencies issued the alert last week in view of the terrorists behind the April 22 Pahalgam attack still at large. "The inputs have been shared with ground troops and local police units to make their arrangements for the Yatra full-proof," a source said.

In its report to the government, the intelligence agencies have named The Resistance Front (TRF), a frontal organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), as they suggested that the outfit, which was behind the Pahalgam attack, is planning a repeat during the annual pilgrimage beginning July 3, the source said.
