6 Teams Formed to Probe Brutal Cow Slaughter

Cops seek help of foresters, increase patrolling

The Uttara Kannada police have intensified their probe into the brutal slaughtering of a pregnant cow in Honnavar taluk. As many as six teams have been constituted and the nearby forests are also being combed.

In the wake of public anger against the cruel killing of the cow in Salkod Panchayat, Home Minister G Parameshwara held a meeting with the IG and SP of Uttara Kannada and instructed them not to spare the culprits. Accordingly, the police spread its net wide to zero-in on the accused. Steps are also being taken to prevent illegal transportation of beef, and all suspects who have earlier been involved in such activities are being questioned.
