Weak earnings season weighs on mkts; Sensex, Nifty decline 1%

DOMESTIC stock market suffered noticeable losses on Friday as investors' sentiment turned cautious after a weak start to Q1FY26 earnings season.
The BSE Sensex closed 690 points, or 0.83% down at 82,500.47, while the Nifty 50 settled at 25,149.85, down 0.81%.
This is the second straight week when the benchmarks have registered a fall. The two indices fell 1.1% each this week.
